So, we are heading into the big finale next week. The December 3rd episode is supposed to be the big finale, and we learn who the two heroes are that will be gone after next week. There is a lot riding on the next show, so let’s get on with the lead-in to it.
Of course, you remember that HRG woke up at the end of last week. He was shot, then given Claire’s blood to help him to recover. He woke up to find Suresh tending to him, they argued, Suresh told him that the Company is all about saving people’s lives, and then he left. And, he locked HRG in the room that he is in, so no homecoming for Mr. Bennett…yet. He does know now that Claire and the rest of the Bennett family believe that he is dead, so we’ll just see where he goes with that information.
Peter and Adam, in the meantime, have paired up to find Victoria, who apparently was the biological engineer who harvested the Shanti virus. Peter, of course, thinks that he is saving Kaitlin by stopping strain 138 of the virus, and Adam is planning to use it to destroy the human population. Or is he? It gets a little tricky at times. They find Victoria in Maine, and she recognizes that Peter is Angela Petrelli’s son. After she has explained to him the danger of the virus, she tells him that it is in Odessa, Texas. Peter and Adam plan to leave, but Victoria comes up with a shotgun and shoots Adam, and then Peter for being with Adam. Of course, we know that they can regenerate, and she knows that Adam can, so as she goes to shoot him in the head(there is no coming back from that one), Peter stops her. Back inside the house(they had her tied up while Peter read her mind to find out where the virus is), Adam unties Victoria, and then claims to Peter that she was planning to shoot him in the head, to cover up killing her. Peter is a little upset at the turn of events, but decides there are more important issues at hand. Peter and Adam set off for Odessa to find strain 138. Hiro, who has gone back to determine when all this trouble started in 1977, shows up and freezes time (or did Peter freeze time?). He plans to kill Adam/Kensei. Peter, however, won’t have any of that so Hiro informs him that he is working with the wrong side, so to speak. As the show ends, Peter is ready to zap Hiro with a lightning bolt, and Hiro is charging Peter with his sword. Can’t wait to see how that works out.
Other happenings included Claire, along with West, Mrs. Bennett and little brother, giving HRG a touching memorial as they scattered his ashes into the ocean. The ashes were brought to them by Bob, who claimed that HRG brought all this on himself and tried in his petty little way to forgo any blame. He then asked daughter Elle to keep an eye on Claire, but not before he promised to let the cheerleader lead a normal life, as a tribute to her father. There was a great moment when Claire caught Elle at the beach during their little memorial, and threatened to expose the Company. She shoved her hand through Elle’s car window, and proved her point by regenerating. It was great to see her get tough to protect her family.
Now, to Sylar and the wonder twins. Sylar convinces Maya that she can learn to control her own powers, by upsetting her and telling her that she killed her brother’s wife on purpose and that Alejandro now hates her for it. She blackened up, but did control herself, saving Sylar from the death of the virus. Sylar then convinced her to send Alejandro away, however, twin brother had a completely different thought about it. He confronted Sylar, who killed him(great to see the old, evil Sylar back). Immediately after, Maya came knocking on Sylar’s door, and they shared a very creepy kiss, with her dead brother lying only inches away hidden from her view.
Many happenings going on, and as the show ended, we saw Sylar call Suresh and explain to him that he convinced the babysitter to take the night off, and he is with Molly. So, what will happen next? Next week, remember, we will find out who won’t carry on with the heroes saga. I, for one, can’t wait. I’m afraid to even begin to ponder on which two heroes will be lost. Oh well, I guess we’ll just have to wait til Monday.
