Well, if you remember, last week they promised us that two heroes would fall tonight, and a villain would rise. I was not at all surprised to see Sylar rise, after all, what would Heroes be without Sylar.
What really got me was the second hero that fell, but I’ll cover that in a minute. First things first.
The episode began in Mohinder’s apartment, as he rushes in to find Sylar and Maya with Molly. During words being exchanged, Maya finally learns the truth about Sylar, but not before she reveals to Mohinder that Sylar has lost his powers. But, he has a gun, so he forces them all into the lab, which incidentally just happens to be Isaac Mendez’s loft, to have Mohinder help him to restore his powers. Molly, while trying to “locate” Alejandro for Maya, reveals to her that her brother “isn’t anywhere”. Maya becomes upset and screams at Sylar, who shoots her. However, Mohinder still has some Claire blood, so to show Sylar what it can do, he injects Maya, and we see the bullet pop itself out of her chest. So, we now know that Maya is NOT one of the fallen heroes, but who is? Keep reading, it gets much better.
Incidentally, after her run-in with Claire, Elle’s father, Bob, is none too happy with her. We learn from HRG that Bob was testing Elle to the point of her fainting, to see how tough his little girl was, when she was only 7! Talk about a daddy dearest. Anyway, Elle is trying to get back into dad’s graces, so when she spots Sylar with his captives in the lab, she goes in to stop him, thinking that her dad will be so proud when she does. She does get to zap him, but he gets away. Oh well, she has successfully saved three lives in the process, and thinks that maybe that’ll satisfy daddy.
At the Bennett home, Claire is proceeding with her plan to expose the company, and Bob brings HRG to talk her out of it. Of course, everyone is surprised to see him alive, and he explains that part of the deal was that he can’t be with them, but he wants Claire to stop with her plan. If she agrees, then the company will never bother them again. Then they bid him a tearful farewell and he’s off with Bob again.
Now, on to New Orleans. This was probably the most boring part of the show. Monica is tied up in an abandoned buiding, and the thug that took her pours gasoline around and sets fire to the building. Micah and Nikki are using Nikki’s cell phone to track Monica’s and they find her, but not after Nikki beats the immortal out of the thug. That was a great part, considering that she was using her womanly charms, and not her super powers. She goes in to get Monica and the building falls around them, however, Monica gets out. So we now know that Nikki is one of the fallen heroes, especially after the building blows up.
Now, back to where we left off last week. Hiro is trying to convince Peter that Adam is bad, however, Peter just won’t listen. Adam and Hiro go into the vault where the Shanti virus is kept, and Parkman shows up trying to mind control Peter into stopping Adam. Peter’s abilities are just as keen as Parkman’s, however, and he has no luck. Until Nathan shows up, that is. Nathan does convince Peter that Adam is not one of the good guys, and just as we see Hiro teleport Adam away, who incidentally was holding the vial with the virus behind his back, Peter rushes in and catches the vial before it hits the floor. Then he uses his Nuclear powers to destroy it. Hiro and Adam, in the meantime, are gone.
Peter, Nathan, and Parkman then decide to undo all the bad things that their parents did, starting with a press conference exposing the existence of heroes. There’s a security camera that they didn’t see, however, and someone is listening as they talk.
Back in Japan, Hiro shows up, much to Ando’s surprise, and tells him that Adam/Kensai will never hurt anyone again. This is the best part…..He teleported him into a casket buried in the cemetery. Although he may never die, he certainly can’t get out, and that was the most twisted and brilliant part of the night.
Ok, on to the press conference. You remember there was a security camera while Peter, Parkman, and Nathan were talking about exposing their abilities. During the press conference, someone steps out and shoots Nathan! He is our second hero. That was a big shocker. Nathan wasn’t even on my list of maybe’s. So, to sum it up, we lost Nathan and Nikki, and gained a new and improved Sylar. After the shooting, we see Angela Petrelli telling someone on the phone that she knew it was inevitable, and that they have just opened Pandora’s Box.
